This miniature oil painting explores the beauty of decorative objects and the play of light across textured surfaces by multi-award winning female artist Denisa Mansfield. The Victorian silver dish, hallmarked London 1888, drew my attention with its sculptural form and intricate detail. The addition of vintage artificial grapes introduces colour and contrast to the composition. Using expressive colour and textured brushwork, I aimed to echo the ornate relief of the dish itself, allowing the paint to reflect the tactile quality of the object. The work celebrates observation, craftsmanship, and the visual richness found in everyday still life.
