The surface applied with impressions of short, swirling impasto strokes that dissolve the solidity of trees, hedgerows, and distant hills into a shifting, atmospheric whole. Forms are not fixed but felt, emerging through rhythm and gesture rather than precise delineation. A band of softened blue-greys suggests rain-laden distance, hovering between sky and land, while clusters of trees flicker between deep shadow and luminous colour.
